Glee is an American musical comedy-drama television series that airs on Fox. It focuses on a high school show choir (also known as the Glee Club) set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. The pilot episode of the show was broadcast after American Idol on May 19, 2009, and the first season began airing on September 9, 2009. On September 21, 2009, Fox officially gave the series a full-season pick-up.
Glee follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to transform the school’s once top-flight, but now moribund Glee Club and inspire a group of talented but unfocused performers to make it to, and win, the biggest competition of them all: Nationals. In his way is not just the indifferent principal, but also the sponsors of the cheerleading and football groups both of whom see his efforts as detracting from their own. His wife, whose acquisitiveness is out of control, wants him to ignore his love of teaching and quit to become an accountant, so they’ll have more money for her to spend. When things get rough between Terri and Will, Will sleeps on a mattress at school, which the glee club had gifted to them for their hard work, filming a television ad. And yup you guessed it, for mattresses. And Sue got her chance to bust Will out of the business. Leaving the glee club, with no administrator. But guidance counselor Emma Pilsbury, out of love for Will, takes over the glee club, and they’re able to go to Sectionals. After being surrounded by cheaters, winning sectionals fair and square, they head back to school and perform a special number for Will “My Life Would Suck Without You”.
